How We Help

Educate

VIRTUES, CHARACTER, and INTEGRITY

In our Virtues for Success class, we educate inmates on the virtues of Wisdom, Courage, Self-Control, and Justice. When applied to their lives, these virtues result in good character and integrity. Upon successful completion, students become lifelong TRP (The Redemption Project) Fellows, entitling them to ongoing access to and support from TRP.

MENTORING and FINANCIAL SUPPORT

We assign Life Mentors to our program students as they progress through class and provide financial support to assist in TRP Fellows’ successful reentry back into society. Life Mentors provide support, guidance, and communication to currently incarcerated individuals which continues up to and beyond their release from prison. After graduating from our Virtues for Success course, students become Fellows and, after release from prison, are entitled to $500 in gift cards for graduating from our class, finding employment, and maintaining that employment for 90 days or more.

CONNECTING WITH PARTNERS

We connect TRP Fellows to Employment Partners who are committed to Second Chance Hiring as Candidates for employment, as well as Support Partners who provide services we are unable to provide to justice-impacted individuals. We educate employers on the benefits of hiring justice-impacted individuals and uncovering the untapped talents that this portion of the workforce represents and then provide networking opportunities for recently released Fellows to receive job leads in which their record is not held against them as they apply, interview for and, hopefully, are eventually hired. With our focus as a jobs program for TRP Fellows, there are a multitude of services that we do not provide and, as such, we reach out to our strategic Support Partners to assist our Fellows with things that constitute additional barriers for convicted felons re-entering society, such as felon-friendly housing, drug or alcohol addiction treatment, transportation, education, training, etc.
