Andre’s story is far more than a marathon finish. It’s a powerful testament to transformation, resilience, and purpose.
While incarcerated at the Minnesota Correctional Facility Lino Lakes, Andre turned a small prison courtyard, a paved triangle of concrete, into his training ground. He logged thousands of miles on laps measuring just 294 feet.
On Sunday, October 5, 2025, Andre crossed the finish line of the Twin Cities Marathon just before 1 p.m., finishing in 4:40. But perhaps more importantly, he finished what he started, a journey of self-reclamation and hope.
Andre, on behalf of the Redemption Project, thank you for sharing this part of your journey with us. Your accomplishment uplifts the entire organization and reminds us of the power of purpose, grit, and heart.
Let’s continue to cheer him on, and let his story inspire us to go the distance, whatever our “marathon” may be.
Thanks,
Dwight
